Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and hailstorm lashed the city for the first time this year on Tuesday.

HYDERABAD: Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and hailstorm lashed the city for the first time this year on Tuesday.

Strong winds blowing at around 40-10 kmph uprooted trees and billboards across the city. Several low-lying areas in were found inundated. According to reports, a tree was uprooted near the KBR Park.
Meanwhile, no sooner did the rain start, MAUD minister KT Rama Rao went active on twitter directing the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials to get the emergency teams positioned on the city roads. The GHMC twitter handle responded in an affirmative claiming all the emergency teams were alerted.  
People can dial 100 in case of emergency as all the emergency services have been linked to it.
Heavy rain also lashed other parts of the state including, Mahbubabad, Bhadradri, Jayashankar, Khammam, Asifabad, Adilabad, Siddipet, Jangaon and Rangareddy districts.
The IMD has said that thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds is likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of TS on Wednesday.
