HYDERABAD: IN an incident that has shocked the city, an unidentified man wearing a helmet sprayed deodorant on a woman’s face before snatching her four-tola gold chain inside her house in Saroornagar on Monday. Before the victim could raise alarm, the accused fled the spot leaving behind his footwear, knife and a mask.
Mamatha, a 20-year-old home maker, and husband Radha Krishna, have been living in a rented house at Saroornagar for the last four months.After her husband left for work, Mamatha was busy with her household chores when she heard someone knocking on the door. When she opened the door, a man wearing helmet took out a bottle from a cover and sprayed it on her face and immediately snatched her gold chain.
Mamatha said she couldn’t identify the man as he was wearing a helmet, but he left his footwear and a plastic bag containing a mask and a kitchen knife. Saroornagar police collected fingerprints and are analysing CCTV footages to identify the accused. A case has been registered.
