HYDERABAD: Armed with knives, two persons robbed the house of an RTC employee in Saroornagar in broad daylight on Monday. The employee’s wife was alone in the house when the burglars entered. The attackers allegedly looted Rs 5 lakh worth gold and Rs 45,000 in cash. One of the attackers was reportedly caught by the public and beaten up black and blue before being handed over to the police.

However, the cops did not confirm the apprehension. According to the police, the accused tried to enter K Prabhakar Reddy’s house under the pretext of installing Wi-Fi. However, his wife Sunitha stopped them saying she was not aware of a request being placed for Wi-Fi connection and asked them to come later.

They left the house and returned after 30 minutes armed with knives. This time they barged inside and latched the door behind them. Sunitha told the police that the accused then gagged her with a saree. Just as they were leaving, Sunitha’s son Satvik Reddy arrived. He raised alarm and one of the accused was allegedly caught.
