KOCHI: In a novel protest, the activists of the Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM) on Saturday slept on the street alleging that families displaced from the Moolampilly island for the construction of the four-lane national highway were not provided with the rehabilitation package offered to them.

Around 50 persons slept on the street at Mother Teresa Square at the High Court Junction. Fr Joseph Oliparambil inaugurated the dharna.

KCYM leaders urged the people to boycott the inaugural function of the ICTT to be held on February 11.
