KOCHI: The first phase of the Cochin International Container Freight Station of the Kerala State Industrial Enterprises was inaugurated by Industry  Minister Elamaram Kareem at Eloor here on Friday.

Kareem said Kerala had turned into an investor-friendly state. “During the LDF rule, the state opened state public sector units with the profit generated by the existing ones,” he said. The projects were commissioned in a record seven-months time.

Kareem said the efforts to start the freight station in FACT did not get adequate support from FACT while TCC, the state PSU, came forward and offered the required land.

He claimed that the LDF government could complete the Vallarpadam project without any labour unrest.

A M Yusuf MLA presided over the meet.
