Express News Service

The Excise Department will set up touch screen kiosks across the state soon to make the public aware of the availability and details of various brands of foreign liquor sold through the outlets of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation.

“This is part of the second phase of the computerisation of the department. It will be completed this financial year itself,” Excise Minister K Babu has said.

As in the Police Department, the government will soon issue an order to change the designation of the Excise guards to Excise civil officers.

He was speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating the comprehensive e-payment system of the Excise Department at the secretariat on Friday.
