The Indian Lawyers’ Congress (ILC) will hold a Central zone convention here on October 7. Union Minister for Power Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the function. Minister for Cooperation C N Balakrishnan and KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala will attend the programme. C K Sreedharan will present a paper on ‘Criminalisation of Politics viz-a-viz Human Rights’.
“Minister for Law K M Mani had stated that counsel is selected by merit and not politics. If this is the case, we demand to know on what basis of merit the present counsel has been selected. This will be discussed during the seminar,” said ILC state president M V S Nampoothiri.
