Archbishop Salvatore Pennachio, Apostolic Nuncio to India, was accorded a grand reception by Kottappuram Diocese on Saturday.
Pennachio is here to attend the silver jubilee celebrations of the Kottappuram diocese to be held on Sunday at St Michael’s Church premises.
Priests, nuns and laymen received him near the Varapuzha bridge. Both sides of NH 66 through which the procession proceeded were decorated with papal flags and banners welcoming him.
He was then escorted to the Bishop’s House accompanied by a convoy of vehicles. He inaugurated a prayer centre and a multipurpose conference hall built at the Vikas-Albertine Animation Centre was inaugurated by him.
