Sand to be cleared from civil station

District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth said the mount of sand deposited on the premises of the civil station will be removed at the earliest.

“The government has sanctioned the auction procedures initiated by the district administration to distribute the sand collected from the Malampuzha dam and other places. The sanction was given by Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty after holding discussions with the District Collector. The sand was auctioned for Rs 58 lakh. One fourth of the auction amount has already been deposited at the district treasury. In the wake of a clearance given by the government, the party can take away the sand after paying the balance amount,” he said.

After moving the sand from the civil station premises, measures will be initiated towards the work of parade ground Pareeth said if all goes well, the district administration will be able to conduct this year’s parade at the civil station.
