The Kochi Corporation Council meeting was disrupted again on Saturday with the Opposition raising slogans against irregularities behind the tendering procedures for projects to be implemented under the plan fund.
Although the mayor said that the projects would be re-tendered, the Opposition councillors demanded that the original files be presented before the council. Following the protest, Mayor Tony Chammany dismissed the meeting.
The Corporation’s decision to re-tender the projects under the plan fund for 2012-13 came with the intervention of the Vigilance Department, which sought explanation from the civic body based on complaints received by it.
