Bhagavatha Sapthaham begins at Paramara temple

The discourse on the Varahavatharam, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as Varaham (boar) to retrieve the Earth from the hands of Hiranyaksha, was the highlight of the Srimad Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yagna at the Paramara Devi temple on Monday.

Bhagavatha scholar Venmani Krishnan Namboodiri is the Yagna Acharya. The other highlights of the day’s sessions were the discourses on Kunthi Sthuthi, Bhishma Sthuthi, Pareekshit’s Prayopavesham and the arrival of Sree Suka Brahmarishi.

 The Sapthaham had begun at the Oottupura Mantapam of the Paramara Devi Temple with the recital of Srimad Bhagavatha Mahatmyam on Monday evening. It was followed by a discourse on the Mahatmyam by the Yagna Acharya. The Yagnam will conclude on July 7 with the Yagna Samarpanam. The recital of Srimad Bhagavatham and the discourses on it will be conducted from 6 am to 6.30 pm everyday.

The highlights of the recital of Srimad Bhagavatham on Tuesday will be Kapilopadesham, Dakshayagam, Dhruva Charitham, Prudhu Charitham and Rishabhavatharam.
