Preparations for the trawling ban to be imposed from June 14 to July 31, have been made in Ernakulam district, said Collector P I Sheik Pareeth.
Life saving equipment is mandatory for traditional fishing boats venturing into sea. Three major boats have been set up for patrolling and rescue operations during the period. Besides, special rescue units will operate at Vypeen and Munambam. A control room will operate at Vypeen Fisheries station.
