'Land acquisition on track'

The district administration has intensified its efforts to complete the transfer of land to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the construction of eight stations of the Kochi Metro Rail.

District Collector P I Sheikh Pareeth, on Saturday, said that the district administration will complete the land acquisition for the stations proposed at CUSAT, Muttam, Ambattukavu, Edappally High School, Kaloor, Elamkulam, Thykoodam, and Petta within one month and the land will be transferred to DMRC thereafter. Out of the eight stations, the land identified for four stations belongs to the government.

He said that a request has already been submitted to the State Government to give administrative sanction for the acquisition of land for other stations.
