In yet another noble act, five persons got new lease of life when Lissy Devassykutty’s family decided to donate her organs. Lissy, a Thrissur native, died due to cerebral haemorrhage. She was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday and was declared brain dead by the doctors on Thursday. Her family, hailing from a humble background, decided to donate her organs.
Lissy’s heart was transplanted in Suvin Aneesh Mathew, a 24-year old, a patient in the same hospital. Her kidneys were given away to the Kottayam MCH, liver to the Ernakulam Medical Trust Hospital and eyes to the Angamali Little Flower Hospital.
