Express News Service

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed the Kerala State Legal Service Authority (Kelsa) member secretary to visit relief centres run by the state government at Palluruthy and Fort Kochi and sought a report regarding the state of affairs in both the centres.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice A M Shaffique issued the order on a petition by P J Peter of Ochanthuruthu seeking rescue and proper rehabilitation of abandoned children and prohibition on begging.

Children rescued from the streets were sheltered in the relief centre, where they have to share space with people suffering with terminal illnesses.
