The Ernakulam District and Principal Sessions Court on Thursday dismissed the bail petition of Rahila Cheerayil, the fourth accused in a case of smuggling gold into the country through Karipur airport.
The court stated that after perusing the case record and Rahila’s statement, it was found that the offence charged against the accused is non-bailable. Judge P Ubaid dismissed the submission of defence counsel that the seizure of 6-kg gold from two women were different incidents.
