‘Switch Off’, a short film written and directed by Anoop Gangadharan, has entered the Limca Book of Records as the first short film that features only gadgets.

The film, which was conceptualised and edited by R P Prathyush, introduces a novel approach in filming.

It tells the story of a four-member family without casting any actor, dialogues or imparting any human voice. The story is conveyed through gadgets that are so common in our day-to-day life.

The 17-minute movie shot with a DSLR camera ends with a strong message that the modern man is becoming a slave of gadgets and it emphasises the need of enjoying the essence of life.

It had won the award for the best original script at afilm competition held as part of cultural fest ‘Ragam-13’ of NIT Calicut in March this year.
