Awareness on Elephants in Captivity

In a bid to create awareness on the sorry plight of captive elephants in the state, the Society for Elephant Welfare will conduct a five-day art fete at Blooms Green Farm, Kenichira,  Wayanad, from March 8 to 12.

In a bid to create awareness on the sorry plight of captive elephants in the state, the Society for Elephant Welfare will conduct a five-day art fete at Blooms Green Farm, Kenichira,  Wayanad, from March 8 to 12. The festival titled Kabani Art Festival would be inaugurated at 10 am on March 8 in the presence of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, at Vrindavan EMRC Trust Auditorium, Kenichira, said singer Chitra Iyer, one of the trustees of Society for Elephant Welfare, at a press conference on Thursday. The event will feature a Bharatanatyam performance  by Rajasree Warrier, a music programme by Chitra Iyer, a performance by Madhu and Sajeev Samudra of Samudra Dance Academy, Thiruvananthapuram, and a flamenco performance featuring Santhosh Chandran on the guitar. A comedy performance by Jayaraj Warrier will also be held as part of the festival.
