Beyond the Soul (2005), the film directed by Malayali filmmaker Rajeev Anchal which was lauded by global and local audience alike will be screened at the Children’s Park theater at 6.30 pm on Friday.
The show is conducted as part of the weekly international film screening organised by the District Administration and District Tourism Promotion Council.
The film had won actor Thampi Antony, who plays the role of Dr Acharya in the film the best actor prize in the Honolulu film festival. The film had also won the Grand Jury prize for the best feature film, best script and best director award in the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.
The film revolves around the story of a doctor who is in search of a rare medicine for his patient who is troubled by an almost uncurable disease. The doctor also discovers leaves from the chapters of his patient’s past life during his journey. Rajeev Anchal, Melissa Santosa and Ranjini Iyer wrote the script for the film. Hollywood actors Scott Anderson, Melanie Braxton, Stan Christensen, Brian Berta, David Silvis, Ansa Akeya and Kim Ferguson also feature in the film. Music Scores of the film are done by Vidyasagar and cinematography by Ramachandra Babu and Keith Gruchala.
