KOCHI:The Intelligence Wing of Commercial Tax Department has found that some of the ‘Duty Paid’ shops are selling goods like cigarettes and electronic gadgets sent by expats as air cargo.
People send the goods as small consignments to relatives using the copy of passport as proof. These goods then make their way to the shops.
A large number of such cases have been reported from Karipur Airport, sources said.
