Aster Medicity Wins JCI Accreditation

KOCHI: The Joint Commission International (JCI) awarded Gold Seal of Approval to Aster Medicity for exceptional standards in health care and patient safety, said chairman Dr Azad Moopen in a press conference here on Wednesday.

“Aster Medicity won the JCI accreditation based on the latest and the most stringent evaluation standards that measured a total of 1,145 elements. It is the first quaternary care hospital in Kerala to win the JCI accreditation,” Dr Moopen claimed.

President and chief executive officer of JCI Paula Wilson handed over the accreditation to Dr Moopen during the press meet.

“In India 24 hospitals have attained this accreditation where as 800 hospitals in 64 countries haved the recognition to their credit”, said Paula Wilson.

Dr Harish Pillai, CEO, of the hospital said that JCI Accreditation will provide constant support and services that would be beneficial for both patients and the staff apart from upholding the hospital’s commitment to excellence.

Aster Medicity has also achieved the NABH accreditation, first ever NABH award for excellence in Nursing.
