KOCHI:  On the nation’s Independence Day this year, the many doctors who had graduated and post graduated from Mata Amritanandamayi Math managed AIMS School of Medicine in Kochi will gather for a day’s rendering of voluntary rural medical service at many of the nationwide villages adopted by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) - inspired Amrita SeRVe project.

The motto of the project is to transform rural India in various aspects of life including healthcare and livelihood. “In tune with Amma’s vision of a truly welfare nation where everyone has equal opportunities, the young medicos, imbibing the spirit of welfare and service, opt to spare some time to spend with the villagers in the country giving a hand in bringing the much needed awareness of common healthcare and lifestyle-induced sickness issues to light.

The participating teams will also provide diagnostic service covering early intervention areas in heart, lung, diabetes, cancer and so on,” a press release said here.
