KOCHI:  Now, a competition to revive the dying art of letter writing, the original handwritten one!

Mir Group, a fast growing business house is organising a letter writing contest in an effort to revive the form in today’s world of instant messages and emails. ‘Missing a hand-written letter in today’s world of instant messages and e-mails’ is the topic of the contest, which being conducted in three categories for school and college-going students and the general public. The contest is in connection with ‘write, send, inspire’, the theme of the launch of the group’s 2016 calendar.

The letter is to be written on a postcard or inland and should not exceed 100 words. Contestants should mention their name, age, class, school, e-mail address and contact number in the letter. The letters will be evaluated by an expert panel appointed by Mir Group.

Winners from each school will be awarded a trophy along with a special prize. The winner at the college level will get a cash award worth `10,000.  Apart from this, the winner from each college will be awarded a writer’s trophy. The winner from among the general public will be awarded books worth `10,000. The letters should be sent to Mir Realtors, 41/2073D, Kalabhavan Road, Ernakulam North, Kochi-682018 before December 10, 2015, a release said here.
