KOCHI: The CBI Court on Wednesday granted permission to CPM leaders Karayi Rajan and Karayi Chandrasekharan, the seventh and eighth accused in the Fazal murder case, for attending the oath taking
ceremony in Thalassery and Kannur after duo won election last week. Both CPM leaders had filed a petition requesting permission to leave for Thalassery and Kannur for two days. While considering the petition CBI Court Judge K M Balachandran allowed them for leaving Ernakulam on Wednesday evening and return by Friday morning. Rajan and Chandrashekaran also have filed another petition for travelling to Kannur on November 18. Both Karayis arrested in Fazal murder case were granted bail on condition not to leave Ernakulam district without the permission of the court. Rajan was elected to district panchayat after winning election in the Pattyam division in Kannur. Similarly, Chandrashekaran contested and won election from Chellath ward of Thalassery municipality.
