From our online archive

KOCHI: Three short films by international artists, which explore the use of technological documents to showcase domestic life, will be screened on Friday.

The screening will take place at 3BHK, near Hotel 18, Fort Kochi from 6 pm. In ‘Hudson Valley Ruins’, Jacky Connolly uses ‘The Sims 3 computer graphics engine’ to create a film depicting the absurd, alienated and uncanny lives of several characters, focusing on two young girls and their visions, experiences and fantasies.

In Liang Hongzhe’s ‘A Wedding Photo’, we are presented with a photograph of his parents’ wedding that he manipulates on an open Adobe Photoshop window while he narrates a tale of their separation.

In ‘But there is no google map street view in my hometown’, we are taken to Jueqian Fang’s hometown through the Google Maps engine where the artist attempts to situate her past and her memories.
