KOCHI: The colours and cute little smiles will fill your heart as you walk past the works exhibited at 'Chembila', a painting exhibition by 50 children with a hundred works in different genres, organised by Crayons Arts. Nandikesh S Nair, an UKG student, who represented Kerala at Navneet Master Stroke All India Drawing Competitions, shares his happiness of being a part of the exhibition. He says, "We are happy to exhibit our works as people from different places can see it here."

"We were not restricted by a theme, we were given freedom to draw to our hearts' desire and that is what makes this exhibition uniquely beautiful," says  Mithun C S, a 5th standard student. The exhibition included works in acrylic, water colour, oil paint, crayons, oil pastels, pen and pencil. The young artists explain the title of the exhibition; "Crayons Arts is the 'Chembila' and we are the dew drops that fall onto it." Crayons Arts is a venture by Sujith Surendran, who works at RayHans, an electronics company.

It began with about 15 students, now over 90 students come to him to explore the magic of art. Aswathy M U, an 8th standard student, who also represented Kerala at Navneet Master stroke, adds, "Along with learning art we are getting motivated. There are lectures by guests, which makes the classes interesting and keeps us motivated."

"All the parents are happy to know that their child is talented and to see their works being displayed in such a fashion is something that makes us proud and happy beyond limits," says Sreedevi Renjith, an art lover and parent. Sujith Surendran, the Director of Crayons arts, says that he is happy to see the works of his students.

"We have been working for this exhibition for last eight months and now to see the smiles when they look at their framed works, its a real pleasure." He adds, "We didn't plan for such a big event, but the support of the parents and friends is what made this exhibition a big success.
