Express News Service

KOCHI: A music show by the Catholic Congregation of the Blind will take place at the JT Pac on 19th June at 7 p.m.

The Catholic Congregation of the Blind was formed in 1996. A few inspired blind  people approached Fr. George Panackal VC (the then Director of the Divine Retreat centre) to utilise their potential. Thanks to the support of Fr. George Panackal, the then Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar Antony Padiyara, recognised them as a Congregation, with a motto and constitution. Since 2014 Fr. Lukose Kunnathoor serves as the administrator.

The C C Blinds orchestra is part of CCB. It has more than 42 blind artists trained by the group. They have conducted programmes in many places all over Kerala. The programmes include Super Hit Ganamela, Devotional Ganamela (both Christian and Hindu), Smrithilayam (Old is Gold), and Insrumental Fusion. All the instruments and vocal are performed by partially or totally blind artists.
