Mankind responsible  for protection of nature: Mar Chrysostom

KOCHI: Those causing air pollution should be considered as murderers, said Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Metropolitan. He was speaking at a function organised by the Kerala Catholic Bishops Council to honour him.

“You become true humans only when you see God in others. If a person is starving, it is the God who is starving. God first created man, then nature. So, it is the responsibility of the mankind to protect nature,” said  Mar Chrysostom who turned 100 this year. Archbishop Soosa Pakiam presided over the function.

Syro-Malabar Church head Mar George Cardinal Alencherry, Bishop Mar Mathew Moolakkatt, Fr Sebastian Thuruthikunnel, former Supreme Court Judge Justice  Cyriac Joseph and KCBC deputy secretary Fr Varghese Vallikkatt, among others spoke.
