KOCHI: In a new development in the sensational Mishel Shaji case,the Crime Branch Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Saturday recorded the statement of her close friend, who said Mishel had often encountered abrasive behaviour, from Cronin Alexander Baby.
According to her, Cronin’s domineering nature had even prompted Mishel to think of cutting off her ties with the youth.
Now, though,the sleuths would mainly try and find out whether the accused had used any other phone or SIM card to contact Mishel,sources said. A probe was on to find out whether Cronin had any selfies featuring the girl and himself.
The SIT has been trying to procure additional CCTV footage to garner more evidence of the suicide and the actual reasons which resulted in the CA student’s death.
The investigators were looking into whether anyone had followed her from Kaloor to the High Court Junction.
Earlier, the parents of the deceased alleged two youths followed the girl on a motorcycle as she left the Church.
