KOCHI: The North police on Saturday arrested a 48-year-old man for swindling more than C3.5 lakh from a couple here after promising to offer job in the Navy. The police arrested Antony Varkey, from Cherthala, based on a complaint filed by the couple. Six months ago, Antony Varkey approached the wife of the complainant and offered her a computer assistant job in the Navy, the police said. He collected C3
lakh from her in various instalments and also issued her a fake call letter. SI Vibin Das said Antony had duped a Vaduthala native of C1 lakh with similar offers.
