KOCHI: Actor Dileep, the 11th accused in the actor assault case, on Tuesday submitted before the Kerala High Court the investigation agency had hastily filed the final report without making efforts to recover the mobile phone, which is the crucial evidence in the case.Though the agency has 90 days’ time to file the chargesheet, it filed the report on the 57th day after the incident. The police investigation is not credible, he said. The police had filed the final report against Pulsar Suni and other accused persons, and further investigation is still on to recover the mobile phone.

While seeking bail, Dileep’s counsel submitted the investigation agency is depending on the false statements made by the first accused, who has criminal antecedents. Barring mere allegations against the petitioner in the first remand report, there is no evidence against Dileep in subsequent reports filed by the police before the Magistrate, the petitioner stated.
