Abhimanyu  killing: 15-member team involved in murder

The investigation team has arraigned Mohammed A I, a third-year undergraduate student of the college, as the first accused in the case.

KOCHI: Four days after the gruesome murder of SFI leader Abhimanyu M at Maharaja’s College here, the police team has identified the assailant who stabbed the 20-year-old.

A 15-member team comprising PFI-Campus Front of India activists carried out the murder on July 2 after hatching a conspiracy, the FIR said.

The investigation team has arraigned Mohammed A I, a third-year undergraduate student of the college, as the first accused in the case. The police have identified one more person bearing the same name among the accused persons.

Probe team sources said the whereabouts and current location of the accused person, who carried out the attack, have been confirmed. The sleuths have initiated steps to prevent him from escaping from the state. He will be taken into custody soon, they said.
