KOCHI: Who’s who of the maritime industry will gather in Kochi on August 10 for the sixth edition of the Coastal Shipping and Inland Water Transport Business Conclave 2018. Shipping secretary Gopal Krishna will be the chief guest at the conclave, while Malini V Shankar, director general of shipping; Anant Swarup, joint secretary (logistics), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and Shashi Bhushan Shukla, member (traffic), Inland Waterways Authority of India, will be the guest of honours at the event.

The conclave seeks to bring together policymakers, cargo owners, stakeholders, technology startups in the logistics industry and experts who can share their experiences on creating value propositions for cargo owners and chalk out ways to develop solutions for coastal and waterway movements.

It is spread over three sessions which will broadly focus on ‘How Technology is changing the future of Coastal Shipping and Inland Water Transport’, a release said here on Thursday. The conclave will involve a broad spectrum of key individuals from the industry, including those from ports and marine facilities, shipyards and ship repair facilities, shippers, tug and barge operators and marine suppliers.
