KOCHI:A painting exhibition is set to be organised in the city as a tribute to the Latvian woman who was murdered during her trip to the state. The two-day painting expo is being organised by Anitha Mohan from Wednesday.

Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will inaugurate the event. Soorya Krishnamoorthy, Kattoor Narayana Pillai and Manilal Sabarimala will attend the function.

The paintings, by the artist Anitha, is themed on the atrocities the woman was subjected to while on her visit. Anitha has conducted exhibitions across various arenas. Her paintings were exhibited at the Soorya festival, Lalit Kala Akademi fest, and several other programmes. The painting exhibition will be on at the Museum Auditorium from 10 am to 6:30 pm. Entry is free.

The Latvian woman went missing from Kovalam in March and after a month- long search, her body was discovered in a decomposed state in an isolated area near Kovalam.
