Kochi Metro launches 20 e-autos for feeder service

These autos will be distributed in six metro stations such as Aluva, Kalamassery, Edappally, Kaloor, MG Road and Maharajas College Station.

KOCHI: The Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) will roll out 20 e-autos as part of its feeder network. The agency on Saturday inked a pact with Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions.  As per the agreement, KMRL will be provided with 20 ‘Kinetic Safar Smart’ vehicles to support last-mile connectivity in the city.

These autos will be distributed in six metro stations such as Aluva, Kalamassery, Edappally, Kaloor, MG Road and Maharajas College Station.

e-autos will be exclusively used for the purpose of metro feeder only and is operational during the metro operational hours “The world is quickly adapting to electric vehicles and in the coming years, electric vehicles will replace internal combustion vehicles. e-autos produce fewer emissions that contribute to climate change,” said KMRL managing director A P M Muhammed Hanish.
