KOCHI: “The influence of globalisation have caused the death of many dialects, so the effective academic involvement of universities is required to respond to such losses,” said Kerala Governor and Chancellor of Universities P Sathasivam at the special convocation held at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit in Kalady to confer honorary DLitt degrees to the maestros of literature and art on Tuesday. 

Extolling the contributions made by litterateurs N V P Unithiri, M K Sanu, and kathakali exponent Kalamandalam Gopi to the cultural scenario of Kerala, the Governor said their works are real treasures in the cultural history of Kerala.
