Winners of SBT literary, media awards announced

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ambikasuthan Mangadu (short story) and M.R. Renukumar (poetry collections) have won the SBT literary awards for the year 2008.

 Salih Kakkodi (Madhyamam) won the award for the best human interest story published in Malayalam daily. Surya Benoy (National Law University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan) won the campus poetry award and Amal (Raja Ravivarma Fine Arts College, Mavelikkara) won the consolation prize for campus short story.  The winners of the awards were announced by SBT general manager Mathur K. Nanjunda here on Wednesday.  The literary and media awards carry a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and a memento each.

 The award for campus poetry is Rs 7,500 and the consolation prize for campus short    story is Rs 2,500.  The awards will be distributed at the SBT Malayalam Sammelan to be held in  the month of   December.
