THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Malayalam movie ‘Winter’, which was released a couple of weeks back, is a full length suspense thriller. The movie is scripted and directed by Deepu, who had made his presence felt by directing Crazy Gopalan.

Winter is the first Malayalam movie that had been completely shot in Ramoji Film city, Hyderabad. This movie also introduces a new music director to the industry. The music and sound effects are by a new face Raj Krishnan, son of famous musician M.G. Radhakrishnan.

Winter tells the story of a doctor (Dr. Ram) who is settled in Hyderabad. The story unfolds through Dr. Ram, his wife Shyama and his daughter. Ram lives with family in a posh residential area in Hyderabad. Issues arise in his family life following the ill health of his elder daughter Ramya.

The horror-based suspense thriller won’t give you a single moment of boredom. The initial response has been good, according to the producer. It can largely be attributed to the presence of Jayaram in the lead role. Winter was the movie that succeeded Jayaram’s super hit ‘Bhagyadevata’. He makes a stunning performance as Dr. Ram in the movie. Bhavana is the heroine who plays Shyama’s role with ease.

Other major roles are handled by Manoj K Jayan, T.G. Ravi, Vijeesh, Jayan Cherthala, Nawab Reyhana and Mary. Winter, produced by K. Radhakrishnan under the banner of Jayalakshmi films, is distributed by Sky Blue films. Cinematography is by Jayakrishna Gumudi. ‘Gajini’ fame Sunil Babu is the art director. Arun Kumar is the editor. Anil Panachooran has penned the songs for the film.
