THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ‘nokkukooli’ demand, which had recently stalled the works of the new terminal of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, has now affected the unloading of a generator at the LIC office near SMV School at Over Bridge Junction here.

A new generator brought to the LIC office in a trolley on Wednesday still remains unloaded. The head-load workers had demanded Rs 15,000 for unloading the generator from the trolley.

The contractors, however, maintained that they themselves would unload it as it had to be placed only outside the building and hence it did not involve much effort. But the head-load workers said that they would not allow to unload the generator unless they are paid ‘nokkukooli’.  The contractors are now planning to take up the issue with the labour officials.
