THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Noted writer George Onakkur and Dr B.Ekbal have been selected for the fifth P.Kesavadev Award for Literature and Diabscreen Kerala Award respectively, instituted by the P.Kesavadev Trust.
Announcing the winners, jury members Dr Jyothidev K. and Desamangalam Ramakrishnan said that the awards, each carrying a cash prize of Rs 10,000, memento sculpted by Artist B.D.Dathan and citation would be presented at a function to be held on July 29 in Thiruvananthapuram.
Onakkur was selected for his novel ‘Parvathangalile Kattu’, a biographical novel on Indira Gandhi. ekbal was selected for his comprehensive contributions to the medical field.
