THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The RSP (Bolshevik) led by A.V. Thamarakshan merged with JSS here on Sunday. JSS supremo K.R. Gowri handed over membership to A.V. Thamarakshan in the presence of hundreds of workers of both the parties.

The merger, both the leaders said, would enable JSS to work more effectively in the state. In her speech, Gowri recalled the revolutionary Land Reforms Act moved by the First Kerala Assembly.

She said the Land Reforms Act had induced pride among the agricultural labourers in the state.

``More than the increase in the agriculture produce of the state, the induction of pride was the major aspect,’’ said Gowri.

She used the platform to attack Thamarakshan’s political rival Babu Divakaran. She said it was Babu Divakaran who had sabotaged the arrack workers’ rehabilitation plan when the issue had been discussed in the cabinet during the UDF rule.

A.V. Thamarakshan presided over the       meeting.

JSS chairman N. Rajan Babu, K.K. Shaju MLA, Umesh Challiyil ex-MLA and RSP leaders Vincent and K. Rajasekharan Nair spoke on the occasion.
