THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate sentenced P.C. Vishnunath MLA and five Youth Congress leaders to three months’ imprisonment in a case related to the gherao of Pro Vice-Chancellor of Kerala University in 2002.

The MLA and others took bail and have decided to go in appeal against the verdict.

 The case related to the gherao by KSU workers in 2002 against the alleged transfer to Kerala of some students who were studying for the MBBS course in other states.  The KSU alleged corruption in this transfer.
