GURUVAYUR: The Sreemad Bhagavatha Sapthaham in connection with the Ashtamirohini celebrations at the Sree Krishna temple here began at the Melpathur Auditorium on Monday with the recital of the Bhagavatha Mahatmyam.

Bhagavatha scholars Venmani Krishnan Namboothiri, Vidwan Bhaskaran Nair, Swami Chidananda Saraswathi, Vaidyalinga Sharma, Anjam Krishnan Namboothiri, Paleli Narayanan Namboothiri, Thottam Shyam Namboothiri, Guruvayur Maniswamy, Swami Sanmayananda Saraswathi and P C C Elayath are among those who will recite the Bhagavatham and deliver discourses.

The Sree Krishna Avatharam  (Sreemad Bhagavatham Canto X, Chapter 3) will be recited on the Ashtamirohini day between 10 am and 11 am.

The Sanskrit text (Moolam) of the Bhagavatham will be recited during the Sapthaham every day from 5 am to 10.15 am and from 2 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. The recitals will be followed by discourses. The Sapthaham will conclude with Samarpanam on September 14.
