THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The seventh Malayattoor Award will be given to N Prabhakaran’s novel ‘Janakadha.’ Dr M Shajahan won the Malayattoor Prize for the best  upcoming writer for his short story collection, ‘Frankenstein Sathwangal.’ The award committee consisted of K Jayakumar, Dr C Benjamin and Dr N Mukundan.  The award committee said that both the award-winning works depict life on the sidelines with amazing originality. The Malayattoor Award consists of a cash prize of Rs 15,000, a citation and a memento. The Malayattoor Prize comprises Rs 3,001 and a citation.  The awards will be presented at a function to be held here later this month, Malayattoor Smaraka Samithi chairman V K Jayakumar and secretary Anish K Ayilara told a press conference here on Tuesday.
