THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Poet O N V Kurup will inaugurate the Aranmula Ponnamma Foundation on the first death anniversary of the actress on February 21. Forests and Cinema Minister K B Ganesh Kumar will preside over the function to be held at the Cotton Hill Girls’ High School auditorium here at 6 pm.
Mayor K Chandrika, MLAs K Muraleedharan and M A Baby, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Madhu, Sreekumaran Thampi, G K Pillai, Aranmula Hariharaputhran and Dr K Omanakutty will speak at the function.The office-bearers of the Foundation told reporters here on Friday that the Foundation has instituted an award for the first rank holder in vocal music at the Government Music College and the first prize winner in the Cotton Hill School youth festival.
Foundation chairman Aranmula Ramachandran, vice-chairmen Radhika Suresh and Ramesh Kumar and Rajalakshmi attended the news conference.
