THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The standoff between JSS supremo K R Gowri and the Congress blew over on Tuesday after Chief Minister Oommen Chandy gave an assurance to the former that orders appointing chairmen of various Boards and Corporations allotted to the party would be issued within two days.

Gowri had raised a banner of revolt recently stating that the UDF had meted out a humiliating treatment by not issuing posting orders for not even the three chairmen’s posts allotted to the JSS, against a claim of five.

The posts allotted were those coming under the agriculture department, eventually making Socialist Janata (Democratic), which is in control of the ministry, also to stake claim.

However, she had criticised the UDF leadership the other day amid a section in her party making the issue of non-appointment to boards and corporations as a weapon to strike against her.

Gowri met Chandy at his office in the presence of JSS state president A N Rajan Babu.
