Chandy visits Karimadom colony

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy visited Karimadom colony, one of the areas worst affected areas in Saturday’s flash floods, on Wednesday. He assured timely delivery of financial assistance for the residents of the colony who lost their houses in nature’s fury.

 Chandy’s visit was following a plea by  Transport Minister V S Sivakumar, who had visited the colony the other day. The Chief Minister spent about 20 minutes in the colony. He was accompanied by Sivakumar, District Collector K N Satheesh and Revenue officials.

 Karimadom colony was one among the slums which was severely affected by the torrential rain and flash floods. As many as 100 houses of the colony were partially damaged and 60 fully in the flash floods.
