THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram chapter of ‘Candle,’ the charity wing of IBS Software Services, Technopark, organised ‘Varnam’, a painting competition for children from various organisations providing education, food and shelter to the lesser privileged children in Thiruvananthapuram.
The competition was held on the Republic Day at the Technopark Club. The competition was followed by a variety of entertainment programmes in the afternoon.
More than 170 children from Divine Children’s Home, Holy Trinity Balabhavan, Holy Trinity Balikabhavan, Mystical Rose Convent and Sri Sankara Balashramam participated in the programmes.
Celebrating and saluting the spirit of the Indian Republic, the group from Holy Trinity Balikabhavan presented a dance performance on the A R Rahman composition ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam.’
Girls from the Mystical Rose Convent bagged at least one prize in all the categories.
The organisations that participated in this event are beneficiaries of ‘Candle.’
