THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Matha Vanitha Charitable Society, Kabarady Road in Pettah, celebrated the 12th anniversary of its selfless service of providing noon meals to the poor and destitute in ward no 9 of General Hospital. The society also supplies essential materials like clothes, medicines, washing materials, medical equipment etc.

 As part of the 12th anniversary, walking aids and wheelchairs needed for the patients of ward 9 were handed over to the hospital authorities. N Rani, retired nurse of ward no 9, D Radhamma, who has been preparing meals for the patients for the last 12 years and Asha Jacob, who donated a kidney, were honoured by the society.  

 Dr Aja Kumary, Deputy Superintendent of General Hospital, inaugurated the 12th anniversary of the society. George Joseph, chartered accountant, presided over the function. Society patron M Radhakrishna Pillai and secretary R Jayalaksmi, among others, attended the function.
