MS Madhusudanan passes away

M S Madhusudanan, 70, Editor of ‘Kerala Kaumudi’ daily died at a private hospital here on Saturday morning.

He is the second son of Kerala Kaumudi Founder-Editor K Sukumaran. Cremation will be held on Monday. He is survived by wife Geetha Madhusudanan, daughter Julie Madhusudanan, and son Visakh Madhusudanan.

M S Mani (Editor-in-Chief), late M S Sreenivasan and M S Ravi (managing director) are his brothers.

In a condolence message here, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that during the 70s and 80s Madhusudanan showed tremendous courage in journalism and kept the tradition of K Sukumaran alive in Kerala Kaumudi.

Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan said that the role played by Madhusudanan in the growth of the Kerala Kaumudi was unforgettable.

CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan in his condolence message observed that Madhusudanan had played a key role in the modernisation of Kerala Kaumudi.

Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty, CPI state secretary Panniyan Raveendran, C Divakaran and others condoled the death of  Madhusudanan.
